BIOGRAPHY
Jennifer began her career in Law Enforcement in 1995 at her hometown police department, Snohomish PD. She started there as a part-time police cadet while attending college at the University of Washington. After two years of working as a cadet, she was hired on as a full time police clerk. In 1999 Jennifer was hired by the Everett Police Department as a Reserve Police Officer. Later that same year, she was also hired to work in Everett’s records unit. Jennifer worked as a Reserve Officer for four years, until the department put an end to its Reserve program. In 2001 Jennifer was promoted to Records Unit Shift Supervisor and in 2003 was moved into the newly created Records Unit Training Supervisor position. Jennifer is now responsible for training all new and returning Records Specialists. She works to provide ongoing training within the unit and is sometimes asked to provide training to other members of the department as well. Jennifer is also a member of the Everett Police Department choir“Thin Blue Line”.
Although Jennifer had attended many LEIRA conferences during her career, she did not become active within the organization until after helping host the Everett conference in 2002. After realizing how much work goes on behind the scenes, Jennifer volunteered to help with the Training Committee. Jennifer has served as LEIRA co-Training Chair and is currently the Conference Committee Chair.
When she’s not at work, Jen spends a great deal of her time volunteering as the Board of Director President for Purrfect Pals, a no-kill cat shelter located in Arlington. She currently lives in beautiful downtown Everett with her four furry, four-legged “kids”.
