BIOGRAPHY

I was born and raised in Mount Vernon Washington. I attended Central Washington University in Ellensburg but graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

I found my true calling in public service in 1992 when I was hired at the Skagit County Auditor’s Office as an accounting specialist. After a four year stint in the Auditor’s Office, I transferred to the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office as the department accountant. I worked in the capacity of accountant for 6 ½ years and then was appointed to my current position of Chief of Administrative Services in January of 2003.

In my current position I oversee a staff of 10 that consists of one accountant, two civil assistants, six support service techs, and a records technician. I am also responsible for budget preparation and monitoring, departmental personnel matters, and assisting other Chief Deputies in directing the overall activities to accomplish the mission and goals of the department. .

I have previously served on four Boards and currently serve on two. I have served in the capacity of Treasurer for LEIRA for four years and am currently a Director on the board. I also serve as Treasurer for my children’s school booster club..

I am married and have two beautiful active daughters. When I am not at 4-H or swimming, I enjoy running and spending time outdoors.
