BIOGRAPHY

I stumbled on my law enforcement career while in college studying towards a degree in social work.  I saw an advertisement in the local paper establishing a civil service list for corrections/communications.  I took the test on the premise that if I ever needed to take a civil service test, I would be better prepared to study for it.  I made the top three on the list and they offered me a part-time job as a corrections/communications officer.  I took the job “temporarily” 14 years ago.

I worked 7 ½ years as a corrections/communications officer (aka jailer/dispatcher) rising to the rank of Sergeant.  I then transferred to my current position of evidence/records manager.  Since we are a very small agency I also wear the hats of Public Education Coordinator, MSAG Coordinator and Sex Offender Coordinator.  I love the challenges that come with being assign such a variety of tasks.

I have been married to my husband for almost 16 years and we have two sons.  Justin will graduate from high school this year and Tim just got out of the Navy after serving for four years.  We enjoy camping, riding fourwheelers, golfing, and just about anything outdoors.
