This course provides practical guidance on applying state-specific laws to public records requests involving BWC footage. Participants will learn statutory requirements, exemptions, redaction obligations, and best practices specific to BWC video. Real-world scenarios and case examples will illustrate how to evaluate, process, and respond to BWC requests in compliance with state law.

This training will include:

• Washington State statutory requirements for requesting BWC video
• Statutory restrictions on releasing BWC videos
• Identifying and redacting confidential information commonly found in BWC videos, including personally identifying information, driver’s licenses, identities of individuals, and different types of law enforcement information.
