Since 1999, Washington Courts have recognized that records prepared and retained by a contractor can be public records for purposes of the PRA. This webinar is designed to help local governments navigate their relationship with their contractors while balancing their obligations for transparency.

M3 Leadership - THRIVE: Wellness Tools for records, Evidence Technicians, and Support Staff

On-Target Strategies - Crime Scene Evidence: Documentation and Collection

This training emphasizes safety protocols, scene security, and systematic processing while teaching participants how to locate, identify, and collect fingerprints, DNA, biological, impression, and trace evidence. Instruction highlights chain-of-custody, crime scene sketches, and legal considerations to ensure accuracy and admissibility in court. Practical staged exercises allow participants to apply methodology, document findings, and justify evidence collection decisions.

On-Target Strategies: Police and Crime Scene Photography

This training introduces participants to essential camera equipment, maintenance practices, and the core principles of exposure, sequencing, composition, and lighting. Instruction covers crime scene, crash, and
injury photography, along with advanced techniques such as laser trajectory documentation, fluorescence imaging, and painting with light, while reinforcing chain‑of‑custody and courtroom admissibility.

  • You will be emailed an invoice once your registration is submitted.
  • The Members discount will automatically be applied for all members. To receive the member price, you must be logged in using the email linked to your LEIRA Membership. You can only receive the discount for yourself. If you use your account to register multiple people for a training, only you will receive the member price, regardless of whether the other people are LEIRA members
  • Payment must be received by training date. 

  • Cancellations must be received 2 weeks before course start to receive a full refund.
  • To receive a certificate for this training, you must be registered, and you must login to the training using your own unique link that will be emailed out a few days before the training. This link tracks attendance. If you do not login using your link, you will not receive a certificate. 
  • Training will not be recorded.

  • Some courses qualify for WAPRO Credit.

  • WCIA Members may receive reimbursement for certain courses. Contact WCIA for more information.
