2019 Past President's Message

Jeanne Johnson Jacobs

Dear LEIRA Members,

As LEIRA’s outgoing President, it’s with heartfelt gratitude that I thank you for electing me to serve as your President for 2017 and 2018. While serving as President, the term “It takes a Village” could not have rung truer! I could not have navigated through the obstacles and challenges LEIRA faced without the unwavering dedication to those that served on the Executive Board alongside me.

I would be remiss if I did not extend my special thanks to Cathy Munoz, Julie Ubert, Lezlie Arntz, Chris Leyda, Sara Fitzgibbons, Josh Rees and Lisa Edlin who offered fresh enthusiasm, global thinking, visionary strategies, prudent time and fiscal management and most importantly, maintained a genuine interest in LEIRA’s sustainability.

As a member, your input is invaluable and it allows your Executive Board to bring you training and networking opportunities that foster communications between agencies that has allowed uniform responses to public records requests, developed methods to navigate through complex property and evidence issues, and many other high risk liability responsibilities you are tasked with each day.

Our Executive Board is mindful that our property and evidence members be offered training opportunities that are unique to their assignments and that their interests are represented. I am so excited to let you know that Janelle Knight, is now serving as a Board Director and her focus is serving as an ambassador for our property and evidence members!

It is with great honor that I introduce to you LEIRA’s 2019 slate of Executive Board members and its Training Committee Chair.

Jeanne Johnson Jacobs
