About LEIRA

Welcome to Washington State LEIRA!

 

The Washington State Law Enforcement Information and Records Association (LEIRA) is a non-profit organization established in 1985 to provide services to our criminal justice agency members through collaboration, education, and communication.

LEIRA is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge through sharing and exchange of professional experiences and technology.  The association formed to meet the following objectives:

Promote the profession of criminal justice support personnel through an organized assemblage to identify and promote best practices through education and training,

  1. Advance individual knowledge and techniques by sharing and exchanging professional experiences and information related to criminal justice support services,

  2. Maintain liaison with the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC) on legislation related to criminal justice support services, and

  3. Encourage professionalism and high standards of performance among criminal justice support services personnel in the discharge of their responsibilities.

LEIRA members have many opportunities to participate in the Association’s volunteer activities by participating in committees, providing or hosting training, conference planning, and serving on the executive board.
